NBC Tower is a famous local television channel in United States and has its offshoots in all the major cities and state of US. One such tower is located in the north of Chicago as well. The tower is located in the vicinity of the Streeterville neighbourhood.  The basic purpose of this tower was to hold the offices and house the studios of NBC. The stone for this beautiful tower was laid in late 1987 and was completed in 1989.

The building is a tall structure which shoots up to the height of 191 meters. This height has encapsulated 37 stories in it. It was a difficult task to design such a master piece and Adrian D Smith was trusted for this important task. Joining both the ingenuity and the art he created such a beautiful place which could hold all the offices and the antenna which were part and parcel of the very important television channel.

The building occupies a total area of 79,000 sq meters. The mighty space available for the offices posed the problem of parking as well which was felt in the very beginning by the architect. Three underground floors of parking were thus made additional for the parking which could hold 261 cars at a time. The main tower has also got a radio and broadcasting ability. Four story radio and broadcasting facility has thus been designated in the main tower for the needful. This tower is used to broadcast the important shows like Jerry Springer show.
